Travel India

Join Harsha Bhogle on a trip around India in this contemporary showcase of the country as it is today - its people and their preoccupations.

In this series, we experience India through our host Harsha Bhogle – arguably India’s and the cricketing world’s best known and loved cricket presenter

Harsha is a well traveled man who's job has taken him to practically every part of India and has done so for the last 15 years or more.

But the fact is there isn’t a thing he knows about the places he visits. He’s seen all the airports, knows the hotels and has probably driven past certain city sections on the way to a cricket stadium...

Harsha exchanges his formal suits and the comfort of air conditioned studios for bumpy rides by car, bus, boat, camel, air and train across the Indian subcontinent and unlearns all he knows about live TV to take on a role he never imagined he’d be capable of.

Travel India is a contemporary showcase of India about the country as it is today, narrated from the point of view of an everyman Indian citizen.

The journey covers a variety of places in states including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Kashmir, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerela & Maharashtra.

Harsha is no seasoned traveler, nor does he claim to be an expert. He and viewer alike will discover the country organically as each episode unfolds, where the journey is as important as the destination.

Delhi and Uttar Pradesh

The episode opens at the Taj Mahal in Agra, arguably India’s most definitively recognized monument. From the beauty of this past Indian capital city to its present, we head to New Delhi.

Here we explore the city’s famous high life & its status as India’s fashion capital. Our host gets himself a fashion makeover from a leading style guru and later heads off to Sunday brunch with the city’s swish set at a posh eatery.

From here he makes is way to the city of poets – Lucknow. He ambles around the place in search of various cuisines that are legendary in this region.
